RExperience the enchantment of flowers, lush greenery, and sustainable horticultural practices at the prestigious Udyan Utsav 2025, hosted at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bolarum, Secunderabad from January 2 to January 13, 2025. This 12-day festival, dedicated to the celebration of nature, aimed to promote environmental conservation and encourage public participation in sustainable practices.

A Collaborative Effort for a Greener Future

The event was meticulously organized in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The festival served as a significant platform to showcase innovations and technological advancements in agriculture and horticulture, emphasizing sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

Showcasing Innovations and Sustainability

Visitors had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge developments through thematic stalls and interactive workshops led by experts in the field. These sessions highlighted advancements in agriculture, horticulture, and sustainable gardening techniques. The festival was formally inaugurated by progressive farmer Chintapalli Suresh Kumar Reddy, accompanied by Shri Samuel Praveen Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India; Shri Shivendra Chaturvedi, Director, President’s Secretariat, Delhi; Dr. Saravanan Raj, Director, Agricultural Extension, MANAGE; and Dr. K. Rajani Priya, Manager, Rashtrapati Nilayam, Telangana.

MANAGE curated interactive activities such as the Green Wall Pledge, seed ball preparation demonstrations, quizzes for school children, and a drone application showcase for agricultural advancements. Additionally, a series of expert-led sessions covered crucial topics such as:

• Agrotechniques for Higher Productivity in Vegetables

Notable dignitaries gracing the event included Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana; Mr. Prabhakar Rao, Retd. DSP from Kadapa; Eetela Jamuna, wife of MP Eetela Rajender; Dr. G. Narendra Kumar, IAS, Director General, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR); and Dr. Prashant Armorikar, Additional Commissioner, DA&FW.
