NEET Paper Leak Scam: A Symptom of Social and Moral Decline Beyond the Education System  The recent NEET paper leak case (NEET – National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), at first glance, may appear to be just an educational scam. But in reality, it is not something so superficial; rather, it is a serious symbol of the mental, social, and moral decline within Indian society. I feel that the following factors are largely responsible for such incidents happening. Deadly Competition: Competition at the national level has become so intense and life-consuming that students, and especially parents, are now ready to cross any limit by putting aside justice, honesty, and morality in the name of securing a “bright future” for their children. (Basis - In this scam, not only students but parents were also found to be involved.) Hunger for Social Status: Statements like “My son/daughter has cleared NEET, now they will become a doctor, engineer, or get into IIT” have become symbols of pride in s...

  NEET पेपर घोटाळा: शिक्षण व्यवस्थेपलीकडचे सामाजिक अध:पतन  नुकतेच घडलेले NEET पेपर (राष्ट्रीय पात्रता कम प्रवेश परीक्षा, NEET - National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) प्रश्नपत्रिका फुटीचे प्रकरण वरवर पाहता केवळ शैक्षणिक घोटाळा वाटत असले, तरी ते एवढे उथळ नसून भारतीय समाजाच्या मानसिक, सामाजिक आणि नैतिक अध:पतनाचे गंभीर प्रतीक आहे. मला वाटते की हा घोटाळा घडण्यामागे खालील गोष्टी मोठ्या प्रमाणात कारणीभूत आहेत. जीवघेणी स्पर्धा: राष्ट्रीय स्तरावरील स्पर्धा इतकी तीव्र आणि जीवघेणी झाली आहे की विद्यार्थी, विशेषतः पालक, मुलांच्या “उज्ज्वल भविष्यासाठी” न्याय, प्रामाणिकपणा आणि नीतिमत्ता बाजूला ठेवून कोणतीही मर्यादा ओलांडण्यास तयार झाले आहेत. (आधार - या घोटाळ्यात विद्यार्थी तसेच पालक पण सहभागी आहेत) सामाजिक प्रतिष्ठेची भूक: “माझा मुलगा / मुलगी NEET पास झाली, आता डॉक्टर होणार, इंजिनिअर होणार, IIT मध्ये जाणार” हे वाक्य समाजात अभिमानाने सांगता यावे, नातेवाईकांमध्ये मान वाढावा आणि प्रतिष्ठा टिकून राहावी यासाठी अनेकजण नैतिकतेशी तडजोड करण्यासही मागेपुढे पाहत नाहीयेत.
